That’s The Business is operated by MCNM Marketing. We participate in affiliate programs through impact.com, which connects publishers with brands including hotel and airline loyalty programs and business software companies.
Current affiliate relationships include Marriott Bonvoy, Choice Privileges, Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Copa Airlines ConnectMiles, and Etihad Guest (all through Points.com), and MarketXLS.
The Rules We Follow
- We disclose before the link, not after. Every page with affiliate links carries a disclosure above the first link, where you will actually see it — not buried in a footer.
- We say when something is a bad deal. Commission does not buy a recommendation. Our buy points page currently recommends against several offers we would earn money on.
- We verify prices and dates. Every offer we publish carries the date we checked it. Promotions change constantly; if you find something out of date, tell us.
- We label affiliate links for search engines. All affiliate links carry the
rel="sponsored nofollow"attribute, per Google’s guidelines. - We do not write reviews of products we have not researched. Where a review is based on published specifications rather than hands-on use, we say so on the page.
Why Affiliate Links at All
Research takes time. Verifying that a 100% bonus is actually a bad deal takes longer than repeating the press release. Affiliate commissions fund that work without putting the content behind a paywall or filling the site with display ads.
The tradeoff only works if the recommendations stay honest. If they ever stop being honest, the site stops being worth reading — and we know it.
